I talk a lot about self-care and motherhood, but it’s pretty clear that many, many moms would practice more self-care than they do if they only had more time. But that argument is a symptom of the problem, and the problem is that self-care doesn’t always mean taking time away from your day to have a luxurious bath or meditate or practice yoga. Self-care is also little things like drinking enough water, eliminating toxic relationships from your life, and practicing mindfulness and gratitude.

As I started thinking more about just how many activities the term “self-care” encompasses, I found myself puttering around the internet until I stumbled onto a few TED talks. I love TED talks in general, and these in particular were really profound for me as I got to thinking more about how and when self-care and motherhood overlap.

Thanks for sharing these TED Talks! I agree that parenting nowadays is confusing for many because the world has changed drastically. I also believe in the importance of self-care, especially our psychological health.
